Here is a selection of the most Instagramable spots of Cannes on Instagram. It is a route made of ultra-photogenic places that deserve a photo stop and will for sure seduce followers and Instagramers. Of course there are many more... it's up to you to reveal them.

In the beginning, Cannes was a simple fishing village. The Old Port and its Saint-Pierre Quay, which opened in 1838, is an emblematic location in the Cannes landscape. Residents gather there to celebrate the summer. Located at the foot of the historic district, this location allows you to photograph all of the old town, with its colourful facades, its chateau and sometimes even old “pointus” (fishing boats with pointed bows) in the port. monsport06: This spot is perfect in the mornings, when the gentle light shines on Le Suquet and the water is like oil and forms a mirror. It is also great at dusk, when the lights are on.

Gilles Traverso: Take the first boat for the islands, as there are less people. The morning light and the calm waters make the idyllic coast and the limpid nature of the sea stand out.

monsport06: As of the Spring, when the flowers make this area really photogenic. Give preference to the end of the afternoon, in order to have the softer light behind you.
The famous La Croisette promenade stretches for three kilometres along the Bay of Cannes, from the Palais des Festivals to Pointe Croisette. Since the 19th century, this part of the coast has been famed, especially for its chic walkers and its beautiful villas. It has become forever famous thanks to the Cannes Film Festival. Today, most of the villas have given way to luxury apartment buildings, hotels and boutiques. La Croisette is great for photographing from every angle. Find out more

Le Suquet is the birthplace of the town, the oldest district where Provencal charm blends with the authenticity of a village. Its colourful facades and its narrow, paved alleyways give it a Provencal air, warm and picturesque. Photogenic, they shine in the months of June, July and August with the bougainvillaea and the flower-decked balconies. Find out more
Location and access: Access is by foot from the bus station behind the Town Hall. The starting point is the bottom of Rue Saint-Antoine. It should be noted that it is difficult to transport carts with heavy equipment, because of the stairs and the narrowness of the streets. Google Maps

monsport06: The honeysuckle below the La Castre museum in the springtime is superb. Then the flowers and bougainvillaea take over and it’s a delight. The frontage of Rue Coste Corail and the bougainvillaea in Rue Traverse de la Tour are sumptuous in the summer.

Located in the heights of old Cannes (Le Suquet district), in the remains of the old monks’ castle, the Place de la Castre and its museum overlook La Croisette, the bay and the Lérins islands. The Place offers an amazing view as night falls with the evening lighting. Find out more
Location and access: To get there, the simplest way is to start in Rue Saint-Antoine (the starting point of Le Suquet) and climb up to the Traverse de la Tour. On foot, count on it being 10 minutes from the Palais des Festivals. Google Maps.

Located at the foot of Le Suquet hill, Forville market constitutes the real popular and historic heart of Cannes. It houses market gardeners, fishermen and other local producers, and invites visitors on a gourmet journey. There are several terraces surrounding it and the atmosphere there is friendly and warm. monsport06: The pontoons on the east side will make early risers happy for the sunrise. The Pointe Croisette port to the west is great for sunsets.
With its 80 hectares of forest, the Croix des Gardes park is the veritable green lung of the town. It offers walkers a 360° panoramic view and various viewpoints (5 lookout areas) over the Bay of Cannes, its islands, the Esterel mountain range and lastly the Alpine foothills of the Côte d’Azur. In winter, when the mimosas flower, the park is covered in a unique shade of bright yellow. Find out more

slpcannes: If you’re allergic to mimosas, I would recommend you avoid it between February and the start of April. However, the view in some areas is exceptional.
Gilles Traverso: In the afternoon to highlight this still wild area, with the view of Cannes in the background.
monsport06: Sunrise and sunset, mimosas…there are loads of possibilities here. I like to go there just after the rain when the air is clear and the sky still cloudy with sunny spells.
